Matthew Downs

Co-Founder

Prior to ALTAR Matthew was President of Elevation Commercial Development and a former executive and principal at Liberty Investment Properties, a privately held real estate investment, development and management firm. During his tenure at Liberty, he oversaw the development of more than 30 hotels and storage facilities across the United States. Through his career, Matthew has been responsible for the new development or adaptive reuse of more the $250mm of real estate. Matthew also had operational oversight of over 3,600 hotel units across nine states in 16 distinct markets.

 

Matthew received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Samford University School of Business. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) as well as the National Investment Center for Senior Housing and Care (NIC). 

Jimmy McDougall

Co-Founder

Prior to Altar, Jimmy McDougall was the Vice President of Investments for Elevation Financial Group. In that role he was responsible for identifying and executing strategic acquisitions and dispositions– including management of acquisition activities, market analyses, site selection, initial assessment of market value, environmental review, due diligence, negotiation of purchase agreements, financial analysis and analysis of structured equity and debt financing. During Jim’s career, he has structured the acquisition and disposition of over 9,500 units having an aggregate value more than $427 million.

 

Jimmy holds a Master of Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Management at Rollins College. He also holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in European History. He is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) as well as the National Investment Center for Senior Housing and Care (NIC).
